We might take an X-ray to check for any tooth decay, risk of infection, or injuries to your tooth’s pulp and do a root canal treatment beforehand.
The tooth that needs to get crowned will be filed down the sides and across the top to make enough space to fit the crown. The amount that will get filed away will depend on the kind of crown that you will get. If there is too much damage or decay, we’ll have to use a filling material to create enough structure to be covered by the crown.
After that, a scanning device will take pictures of your tooth, after which our computer software will create a 3D model to use as a basis for the shape of your new crown. The whole process takes barely 15 minutes!
